Transformers: The Last Knight is currently undergoing principal photography and now it looks as though some familiar faces are returning to the film after their absence from the last film, Transformers: Age of Extinction. Tyrese Gibson has confirmed via his Instagram account that he will indeed be returning to the franchise – having last been seen in Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
This shows that the actor will be quite busy with his big screen prominence in the near future. In fact, Gibson was in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, teasing to fans of two vehicular franchises how next year for him will turn out:
Let’s just say 2017, summertime, it’s going to be a lot of energy out there in the universe: ‘Fast 8’, ‘Transformers 5’.
Gibson will not only be reuniting with director Michael Bay, but also his fellow Transformers costar Josh Duhamel. These two characters making their triumphant return makes the most sense out of any other characters coming back. I think it is safe to assume that we won’t be seeing Shia LaBeouf’s Sam Witwicky coming back any time soon.
What do you guys think about this news? Are you excited to see Tyrese Gibson return to the franchise? Where do you think Rob Epps has been since the events of Dark of the Moon? Sound off in the comments below.
Directed by Michael Bay and starring Mark Wahlberg, Isabela Moner, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Jerrod Carmichael, Anthony Hopkins, Mitch Pileggi, and Laura Haddock, Transformers: The Last Knight opens in theaters June 23, 2017.
