Variety reports that Antonio Banderas has joined the cast of Tom Holland’s Uncharted.
After years of being stuck in development hell, Sony’s live-action feature film adaptation of Uncharted is moving forward with Tom Holland as a young Nathan Drake. Now, Variety reports that Antonio Banderas has joined the cast of Uncharted in an undisclosed role.
Furthermore, the outlet’s sources have also revealed that Sophia Ali and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Tati Gabrielle have joined Antonio Banderas as the newest additions to the Uncharted cast. However, details on Ali and Gabrielle’s roles are also being kept under lock and key at this time.
Antonio Banderas’ previous credits include The Laundromat, Knight of Cups, Desperado, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, and The Mask of Zorro. Most recently, Antonio Banderas starred in Pedro Almodovar’s Pain and Glory and received an Academy Award nomination for his acclaimed performance.

Based on the PlayStation video game series of the same name, the film is set to chronicle the first encounter between Tom Holland’s Nathan Drake and the fortune seeker and businessman Victor Sullivan. The film is reportedly influenced by a sequence in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.
Directed by Venom helmer Reuben Fletcher from a script written by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Rafe Judkins, Uncharted is being produced by Sony PlayStation Productions, with Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan producing alongside Charles Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, and Ari Arad.
Uncharted will be released in theaters on March 5, 2021.
