A fan has spotted an easter egg from Captain America: Civil War that may reference the MCU’s Uncle Ben.
Tony Stark has served as the mentor of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man ever since his introduction in Captain America: Civil War. Some Spider-Man fans feel that Tony Stark has taken the place of Uncle Ben in the MCU, with Tom Holland even saying as much in recent interviews. In Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter Parker struggles to come to terms with Tony’s demise in Avengers: Endgame. There have been small references to Uncle Ben in Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming. However, Uncle Ben has yet to be mentioned by name in the MCU. The closest mention was Peter’s briefcase bearing Uncle Ben’s initials in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Nonetheless, and eagle-eyed fan from the Marvel Studios subreddit noticed that Marisa Tomei’s Aunt May appears to be wearing Uncle Ben’s wedding ring in Captain America: Civil War. You can check out the Uncle Ben easter egg from Captain America: Civil War below!
