Universal Studios has paused production on Jurassic World: Dominion due to concerns regarding the coronavirus.

Hollywood has suffered tons of delays and cancellations this past week due to the ever evolving concerns regarding the coronavirus. Several completed  films have been pushed back indefinitely like A Quiet Place II while others such as Fast and Furious 9 have been pushed back an entire year. However, with the coronavirus still spreading, those who are the highest of risk are those who are exposed to and engaged in large groups. The production of Jurassic World: Dominion is no small-scale production, which is why it makes complete sense that Universal Studios has decided to pause filming on the upcoming action film, as well as its other productions.

Universal Studios is monitoring the situation regarding the coronavirus and its active productions, which include Jurassic World: Dominion, an untitled Billy Eichner project, and Flint Strong which stars Ice Cube. In the statement released regarding Jurassic World: Dominion’s filming, Universal revealed that the film’s production is on hold indefinitely.

“Jurassic World: Dominion” had been shooting in London since February but in light of the coronavirus pandemic, execs felt it was the best move for the safety of all involved to delay the shoot indefinitely.

Other projects that have halted production due to the coronavirus include Stranger Things 4, Fear The Walking Dead, Shang-Chi, and Supergirl. On the other hand, films from Warner Bros. such as The Batman and The Matrix 4 will be continuing despite Hollywood’s overwhelming concerns regarding the coronavirus.
