A newly-surfaced Twitter video has fans freaking out over something that looks like a real Venom symbiote.
By now, most comic book fans are well aware of the Marvel Comics villain known as Venom, the sentient alien symbiote best known for bonding with hosts Peter Parker and Eddie Brock. The Spider-Man character has been a fan-favorite ever since his debut in the comics, but some are now concerned that he may have arrived on Earth in real life.
A video that’s gone viral on Twitter shows a mysterious liquid-like substance or being that resembles the symbiote. Of course, everyone is responding with humorous posts about how the arrival of Venom would make sense for the year 2020, which has been filled with terrible news so far.

Meanwhile, Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock is set to return in the yet-to-be titled Venom sequel, which is currently in post-production. Sony is reportedly still planning to release Venom 2 theatrically this fall, though the ongoing coronavirus pandemic may affect the film’s release date.
Directed by Andy Serkis from a script written by Kelly Marcel, Venom 2 stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, Naomie Harris as Shriek, and Woody Harrelson as Carnage. In the meantime, fans can turn to all home media formats to re-watch the first film. Here’s the official synopsis for the film:
The evolution story of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass character – Venom! Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is a broken man after he loses everything including his job and fiancée. Just when his life is at its lowest, he becomes host to an alien symbiote which results in extraordinary superpowers – transforming him into Venom. Will these powers be enough for this new lethal protector to defeat great evil forces, especially against the far stronger and more weaponized symbiote rival, Riot?
Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a script written by Jeff Pinkner & Scott Rosenberg and Kelly Marcel, Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, Jenny Slate, Ron Cephas Jones, and Woody Harrelson. The film is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD.
