VIDEO: Mike Colter & Finn Jones Meet For The First Time

Marvel’s Luke Cage only premiered last Friday and fans are already talking about what comes next. When it comes to their Netflix series, Marvel has been hitting home run after home run with these characters, and with Iron Fist on the horizon as well as The Defenders starting production later this year, it’s a great time to be a Marvel fan.

Mike Colter was participating in a special Facebook Live video on the official Luke Cage page. Fans were asking questions about his experiences working on the series, and then all of a sudden, Finn Jones (Danny Rand/Iron Fist) appeared onscreen (11:00 mark). According to Jones, this interaction marked the first time he and Colter have met. Colter expressed that he had planned on visiting the set of Iron Fist a while back, but was unable to:

I tried to catch you guys at Gramercy Park, but you guys started too late again I couldn’t wait.

Colter also gave Jones some encouragement on working with the shooting schedule between Iron Fist and The Defenders:

He’s almost done with Iron Fist so i feel bad for him because i went through similar things with Jessica. You’re not gonna get any break, you’re pretty much going right into The Defenders, but luckily you’re half my age, so you can take it. You’re a young man, so you can do this. I don’t know what I could do if I were in your situation.

Luckily for Jones, he will have a well-deserved three week break between finishing production on Iron Fist and starting production on The Defenders. Jones plans on leaving New York City during his break to spend time in Upstate so he can escape and experience the wilderness.

Jones congratulated Colter for his success on the show, revealing that he is currently on the third episode at the time of this Facebook live stream. Jones then expresses how he’s really looking forward to working with him on The Defenders. I gotta admit, seeing both Jones and Colter together onscreen – albeit during a Facebook Q&A, jolted me with excitement. Just the mere thought of seeing Power Man and Iron Fist together feels unreal, and yet we’ll be seeing that come next year. What are you guys most excited about when Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist unite in The Defenders? Sound off in the comments below.

All episodes of Luke Cage are available to stream on Netflix. Meanwhile, Iron Fist is set to premiere on March 17, 2017, with The Defenders set to premiere on an unspecified date within the same year.
