‘The Walking Dead’ Casting Two New Recurring Roles For Season 8

Walking Dead, new footage
The latest season of The Walking Dead concluded with Rick and his allies winning their first battle against Negan and the Saviors. However, the feud between both sides will soon escalate into an all-out war that Rick has acknowledged will cost lives in his group. It appears that Rick and company may be adding some new recruits to their army as TVLine reports that the series is currently casting two new ‘good guy’ roles for the upcoming eighth season.

TVLine reports that both roles will be recurring. The first character, named Dillon, is described as follows:

[…] a sexy, blue-collar twentysomething whose survival skills include sarcasm.

TVLine describes the second character named Abbud as follows:

[…] an innately likable Muslim American whose nerves are, let’s say, jangled, because he’s flown solo for too long in zombieland.

According to TVLine, casting notices for the role of Dillon suggest that the actor selected for the part could be picked up for further seasons, indicating that the character is more likely to survive through the upcoming season.

10 Independent Comics Perfect For TV

Independent Comics
I really don’t understand why so many great, independent comics are being ignored by Hollywood executives.

Marvel and DC dominated television in 2016 with the Arrowverse bringing the Legends of Tomorrow into the mix and Netflix adding both Jessica Jones and Luke Cage to their expanding list of original titles.  Comic book films also did well in the box office last year, even if the critics weren’t always too happy, so it seems  from an investment perspective comic book properties are still a good bet.  Independent comics are full of characters and concepts that have the potential to become the next big thing.   Fortunately, with Valiant’s recent announcement of an online Ninjak series and FX finally naming a show runner for their Y:The Last Man adaptation, it seems comic fans have a lot to look forward to in the years ahead.

Here’s a list of 10 more comics ripe for the silver screen. Click Next to start!
