Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick has been tapped to serve as the moderator for the upcoming New York Comic Con panel for AMC’s The Walking Dead in promotion for Season 9.
Hardwick will be moderating the NYCC panel for The Walking Dead on October 6 at Madison Square Garden. Cast members Chris Hardwick, Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride and Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be present at the panel along with producers Scott Gimple, Robert Kirkman, Gale Ann Hurd, and Greg Nicotero as well as showrunner Angela Kang will also be present.
This is the first time Hardwick will be moderating an upcoming event following the recent controversy earlier in the summer when his ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra wrote an essay alleging that Hardwick had abused her in numerous ways throughout their relationship. Following the essay’s emergence, Hardwick took a temporary leave-of-absence from Talking Dead as his regular co-host Yvette Nicole Brown took over hosting duties on his behalf. Hardwick was also noticeably absent from San Diego Comic-Con, where Brown also served as the moderator for The Walking Dead panel in Hall H.
Hardwick has since been reinstated by AMC to his hosting duties on the show.
What do you make of this decision? Is it the right call for NYCC to appoint Hardwick as the moderator for this panel? Sound off in the comments below, and be sure to continue following Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news.
The Walking Dead stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Alanna Masterson, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
The Walking Dead season 9 will air on October 7.
