‘The Walking Dead’: Jeffrey Dean Morgan Comments On Rick’s Big Moment

The Walking Dead Andrew Lincoln AMC

While the first half of The Walking Dead season seven was brutal for both the characters and viewers, cast and crew have promised a brighter future for our heroes as they reunite and begin building the resistance against Negan and the Saviors. Andrew Lincoln, who plays series lead Rick Grimes, had previously teased a moment in the season finale that caused him to start punching the air and do a jig.

Now, during a panel at the 2017 Walker Stalker Cruise, actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan commented on the big moment for Rick Grimes. Jeffrey Dean Morgan weighed in the moment and shared a surprising reaction he feels Negan will have.

I’m glad Rick can have a little moment. Good for him. I’m glad that Rick can have a moment. I think this has been a tough season. So, if he gets to have a moment where he can jump around and be happy… If anybody’s f—ing earned it, it’s Andy Lincoln. And, as a fan of the show, I was even a little happy he could have a moment. Maybe Negan was sort of happy. I think Negan will be amused by him having a moment.”

With so much discussion of a growing resistance and a potential war with the Saviors, it is reasonable to believe Rick’s big moment will revolve around a victory in battle. However, Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s reveal that Negan will be around to witness this moment suggests it may not involve the death of the sinister villain.

The Walking Dead returns with new episode on February 12, 2017 on AMC.
