‘The Walking Dead’ May Be Loosing Another Major Character

The Walking Dead Rick Grimes Andrew Lincoln

It seems that The Walking Dead is set to lose another major character in its constantly rotating cast.

According to reports from We Got This Covered, The Walking Dead is set to write Khary Payton from the main cast. Payton, who plays King Ezekiel in the show, will either be leaving the show in season 9 or sometime in season 10. According to the report, it’s a decision that the writers were making and not due to the actor’s desire to leave.

King Ezekiel, of course, has been a long time ally of our main cast of characters. He ultimately helped in Rick and his battles with Negan and the Saviors and even marries Carol in the show. How might he meet his end in the show? Well, fans of the comic can probably already guess.

In the comic, the people of Alexandria come into conflict with The Whisperers and King Ezekiel is ultimately decapitated by their leader. It may not be a strech to assume that he may meet a similar end in the show.

What do you all make of this report? Do you think King Ezekiel will meet a similar end to his comic counterpart? How much longer can The Walking Dead conintue to kill and write off major memebers of its cast? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Last season brought the culmination of “All Out War,” which pitted Rick Grimes and his group of survivors against the Saviors and their cunning leader, Negan. With Negan’s life in his hands, Rick had a character-defining choice in front of him. By making the unilateral decision to spare Negan, Rick upheld the values his late son, Carl, championed in order to build for the future, but created conflict within his group.

Now, we see our survivors a year and a half after the end of the war, rebuilding civilization under Rick’s steadfast leadership. It is a time of relative peace among the communities as they work together, looking to the past to forge the future, but the world they knew is rapidly changing as man-made structures continue to degrade, and nature takes over, changing the landscape and creating new challenges for our survivors.

As time passes, the communities confront unexpected obstacles, danger, and of course, walkers, but nothing quite prepares them for the formidable force they are about to encounter, which threatens the very idea of civilization that our survivors have worked so hard to build.

The Walking Dead stars Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Alanna Masterson, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Austin Amelio, Khary Payton, Katelyn Nacon, Pollyanna McIntosh, Callan McAuliffe, Avi Nash, and Samantha Morton as Alpha.

The Walking Dead season 9 preturns on February 10, 2019, on AMC.
