‘The Walking Dead’: Producers & Cast On Remainder Of Season 7

'The Walking Dead' cast and producers had a panel at PaleyFest 2017 where they discussed the remainder of season seven and possibility of Richonne baby.

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead kicked off PaleyFest 2017 in high spirits. The producers as well as the cast, which included Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan, were all in attendance.

So what can fans look forward to with the last few episodes of season seven? Sonequa Martin-Green, who plays Sasha, says that it’s time to take the fight to Negan and step up.

It’s rising up. It’s the message we’ve been sending out for the entire back eight [episodes], that it’s time to rise up and do something. It’s time to be the leaders we are, to sacrifice for something greater. Rick says to Michonne in episode 712, that it’s not about us anymore, it’s about the future. So that’s what these last three episodes are about, that’s what the entire back eight has been about.

Showrunner Scott M. Gimple is already working on the eighth season and looking ahead to the “next 100 episodes.”

The end of the season is very much the end of a chapter. It’s very much a conclusion that promises this epic story ahead. It’s about setting up this giant, epic tale to come, not only in season 8, but beyond.

Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick, was onboard with the idea of his character and Michonne, played by Danai Gurira, having a baby.

I mean, we’ve got to repopulate the world.

The Walking Dead airs on Sundays at 9/8c on AMC.
