Discovery and AT&T’s WarnerMedia officially closed their deal on Friday to form Warner Bros. Discovery.
A new chapter in Warner Bros.’ storied history begins today with the company merging with Discovery. Discovery CEO David Zaslav will lead Warner Bros. Discovery and had this to say in a statement following the close:

With our collective assets and diversified business model, Warner Bros. Discovery offers the most differentiated and complete portfolio of content across film, television and streaming. We are confident that we can bring more choice to consumers around the globe while fostering creativity and creating value for shareholders. I can’t wait for both teams to come together to make Warner Bros. Discovery the best place for impactful storytelling.”
Toby Emmerich, Casey Bloys, and Channing Dungey will remain part of the newly formed company. The merger will also see the departure of Jason Kilar as CEO, who shared a lengthy Twitter thread looking back on his time at WarnerMedia:
