‘Warrior’ TV Series Coming To Cinemax

Bruce Lee

Cinemax is continuing to move forward with having a larger presence within creating original content for TV. The studio is known for shows like Outcast and is now expanding. Cinemax has ordered a brand new series, Warrior

Warrior was originally created and developed for action superstar, Bruce Lee. Warrior has been described as a passion for Lee, as he spent many years working on the series. Lee passed away (at the age of 32) before production on the series could begin. Shannon Lee, daughter of Bruce Lee, decided to move forward with the series again, she has notes from Lee about the series.

Justin Lin (Fast & Furious, Star Trek Beyond) is on board to direct the pilot, which will be written by Jonathan Tropper. Tropper was a co-creator on Banshee, wich was a major success for Cinemax and one of their earliest original content projects. It has been rumored that Lin could be directing more episodes. Lin has directed for television before, most recently two episodes of True Detective season two and Community.

Shannon Lee will serve as an executive producer on Warrior, along with Danielle Woodrow and Troy Craig.

No release date has yet to be set and more details are expected soon.
