Star Wars Rebels Dave Filoni and select members of the voice cast are on hand for the Rebels Season 4 Panel today at Star Wars Celebration Orlando. Joining Filoni on the panel were the show’s principal cast, including Freddie Prinze Jr., Taylor Gray, Vanessa Marshall, Tiya Sircar and Steven Blum. The panel is streaming live now on the Star Wars YouTube Channel.
During the panel, Filoni confirmed that, after pressuring Filoni at last year’s Celebration in London, Warwick Davis will be joining the voice cast for Rebels season 4. At just 11-years-old, Davis played the Ewok Wicket in Return of the Jedi. He has since appeared The Phantom Menace, The Force Awakens and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, in various roles. He also known for his roles as Professor Flitwick and Griphook in the Harry Potter franchise.
After the confirmation, Davis joined the panel on stage and Filoni revealed that Davis will be voicing Rukh, Thrawn’s personal bodyguard who was first introduced in Timothy Zahn’s 1991 novel Heir to the Empire, in which Thrawn was also introduced. Rukh is a Noghri warrior who later served as an assassin for Thrawn.
Our own Nathaniel Brail was on hand in the room for the Rebels Season 4 panel. He shared the following image of Rukh:

Grand Admiral Thrawn (voiced by Lars Mikkelsen), a fan favorite from the old canon (now referred to as Legends), joined Star Wars Rebels last season and was a big hit. It’s super exciting to see more characters and stuff from Legends joining the new Star Wars canon, especially anything from any of Zahn’s phenomenal novels. It’s also great that this franchise continues to honor the legacy of the series by bringing back fan favorite performers like Davis.
