Watchmen film co-writer David Hayter unveiled footage of the original test clip featuring Batman actor Iain Glen as Nite Owl.
Before Zack Snyder helmed 2009’s Watchmen film, David Hayter had been attached to write and direct an adaptation of the acclaimed Alan Moore comic. Of course, Hayter eventually exited the project over but remained a credited writer on Zack Snyder’s Watchmen adaptation.
Now, David Hayter has taken to his official Twitter account to share color corrected footage from the original test clip he shot for Watchmen with Batman actor Iain Glen as Nite Owl. The clip also features The Punisher: War Zone star Ray Stevenson as Rorschach, who meets with Iain Glen’s Nite Owl to inform him of the Comedian’s death. In a follow-up post, Hayter offered more insight into the Watchmen clip and praised Iain Glen, saying the Batman actor “nailed” the role of Nite Owl.
You can check out the Watchmen clip with Iain Glen’s Nite Owl in the post below!
For any curious #Watchmen fans,
Here is the final, color corrected clip of the Watchmen test I directed in 2003.

X2 was finished by this point. Iain nailed Dan. Ray stepped in when Daniel Craig bailed on us at the last minute. Ray would have made an amazing Comedian as well. The knife was for Dan's defense, and Rorschach was going to use it in a later killing, drawing Dan in.
