Wes Chatham, known for his role as Amos Burton in Amazon’s The Expanse, has been announced as the latest addition to the cast of the upcoming Star Wars series Ahsoka. According to Deadline, Chatham is set to play the right-hand man to Lars Mikkelsen’s Thrawn.
For those who may not be familiar with the Star Wars universe, Thrawn was first introduced in the 1991 novel Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn. He quickly became a fan-favorite due to his tactical brilliance and strategic mind, as well as his unique appearance as a blue-skinned Chiss. Thrawn was later brought into the official Star Wars canon in the animated series Star Wars Rebels, where he was voiced by Lars Mikkelsen. The actor is reprising his role for the Ahsoka Tano series.
Wes Chatham’s Star Wars character has not been named, but his connection to Thrawn suggests that he will play an important role in the story of Ahsoka. It is not yet clear how the character will fit into the plot of the latest Star Wars series, but fans are eagerly-anticipating more information about it ahead of its debut on Disney Plus.
Starring Rosario Dawson, Ahsoka is a spin-off from the popular Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, which followed the adventures of Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and his apprentice Ahsoka Tano during the Clone Wars. Ahsoka quickly became an icon and the character has since been featured in other Star Wars projects, including the animated series Star Wars Rebels and the live-action Disney Plus shows.

The Ahsoka Tano series is being developed by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. The latter co-created Ahsoka alongside George Lucas, with the heroine making her first apppearance in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
The cast of the Ahsoka Tano series includes Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, a.k.a. Darth Vader. Ivanna Sakhno and Ray Stevenson round out the cast.
