Will Smith and Michale B Jordan are on board to star and produce an I Am Legend follow-up for Warner Bros.
Warner Bros. is looking to revisit the I Am Legend IP, with Deadline reporting that Will Smith will return for a sequel that he will produce and star in. Michael B Jordan is also attached and will also serve as a producer and appear in the film. Michael B Jordan is notably working on several projects for Warner Bros. at the moment, which includes a Val-Zod HBO Max series, a live-action Static Shock film, and Creed III, which will mark his directorial debut.
Will Smith’s character in I Am Legend notably died at the end of the first film, so it’s unclear what kind of role he will play in the sequel. Meanwhile, there are no details on who Michael B Jordan will play. Akiva Goldsman will also return to pen the script for the sequel. Francis Lawerence helmed the first film, but no director is currently attached to the sequel. I Am Legend was a hit for the studio back in 2007, earning $585 million worldwide.
