Winston Duke reportedly renegotiated his contract to receive higher pay due to this “expanded role” in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Wakanda Forever might be the most mysterious Marvel project in production, mainly due to how the film will address the passing of Chadwick Boseman. Kevin Feige already confirmed they would not be recasting T’Challa. However, it’s expected the film will see a new Black Panther. Many speculate that Shuri assumes the role, but a new report also puts Winston Duke’s M’Baku in play.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Winston Duke received a “hefty raise” for Wakanda Forever. THR then revealed that Duke earned more money because of “an expanded role in the Panther mythos.” No other details were provided, but this could mean that M’Baku might end up being the one to take on the mantle.

After the death of his father, the king of Wakanda, young T’Challa returns home to the isolated high-tech African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.
