Yesterday a new trailer for the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse dropped and with it came the confirmation that Hugh Jackman’s ‘Wolverine’ will be definitely appearing in the film. While some might assume that this could just be a cameo, according to director Bryan Singer there’s a lot more to it than that. While speaking with Empire, the director commented on the tease at the end of the latest trailer.
Make of that what you want. I will say, it’s not simple. There’s something more pivotal that occurs with that. It hints to a sequence that again fits within the canon of all six movies, and the birth of a new direction. It’s not insignificant, nor is it simply just a throw-in. It’s not the only shot you’re gonna see, let’s put it that way.
Based on Singer’s comments it sounds like this will be a new version of the Weapon X program that might play into the future of the franchise. Very curious what he’s got up his sleeve with this one and we won’t have to wait too long to see with the film being only a little more than a month away.
