‘Wonder Woman 1984’ Poster Spotlights Gal Gadot’s Colorful New Costume

Wonder Woman 1984 Gal Gadot Zack Snyder

A new look at Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman 1984 costume has appeared, and it’s a lot more colorful and bright compared to the original (shown above).

While the original Wonder Woman costume that was seen in the character’s first standalone film had a lot of color, it appeared to be muted in a number of the action scenes to suit the color palette of World War I’s gritty, desolate battlefields. However, a new look at Wonder Woman 1984 costume shows that it’s been updated to reflect the snazzy, bright, and consumerism-driven time period where it’s set to be worn.

The new poster was revealed at a recent licensing expo. You can see it, and Gal Gadot’s new Wonder Woman costume, below:

Fittingly enough, the poster itself resembles an ad for consumer products that would have hit around that time period, rather than serving as a typical “superhero pose” photo. In any case, it’s really interesting to see how differently the Gal Gadot movie is going to be marketed compared to its predecessor, which sold itself as an adventure film first and foremost. Let us know what you think of Wonder Woman’s new look in the comments below.

Wonder Woman has greatly grown in prominence since she was introduced in a live-action capacity on film in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but she really broke out with the release of the Patty Jenkins-directed Wonder Woman in 2017, to the point where her presence in Justice League was prominently advertised. Two out of the three DC Films projects that Gal Gadot has been involved in were massive financial successes, and with Wonder Woman 1984, it looks like Gal Gadot will have a pretty good track record of three out of four hits.

Plot details on the Wonder Woman 1984 are being kept under lock and key, but the film is said to follow Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince as she comes into conflict with the Soviet Union in the 1980s and encounters a formidable new adversary named Cheetah, played by Kristen Wiig.

Directed by Patty Jenkins from a script she co-wrote with David Callaham and a treatment she developed with Geoff Johns, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wigg, Pedro Pascal, Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel, Gabriella Wilde, Connie Nielson, and Robin Wright.

Wonder Woman 1984 will be released in theaters on June 4, 2020. Stay tuned for the latest news on Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and the future of the DC Extended Universe!
