New ‘Wonder Woman’ Promotional Images Pay Homage To Lynda Carter

A series of promotional images featuring Wonder Woman have just arrived, with one of them paying a clear homage to Lynda Carter's version of the character.

A series of Wonder Woman promotional images seen on Dr. Pepper cans show Diana Prince ready for battle, with one image in particular seeming to pay homage to the character’s 1970s television series.

The images, first found by GeekInCA on Instagram, were recently made available leading up to the release of the film. The first image seems to pay homage to a pose that Lynda Carter’s version of the character made several time over the course of the 1970s show (shown directly below). The rest are standard poses showing off the Amazonian warrior’s armor and weaponry in action.

Lynda Carter Wonder Woman

Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.”

Wonder Woman will be released on June 2, 2017. The film stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince (Wonder Woman), Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Lucy Davis as Etta Candy, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Robin Wright as General Antiope, Lisa Loven Kongsli as Menalippe, Danny Huston as General Erich Ludendorff, David Thewlis as Sir Patrick Morgan, Elena Anaya as Doctor Maru, Ewen Bremner as Charlie, Saïd Taghmaoui as Sameer, and Eugene Brave Rock as the Chief.
