X-Men director Bryan Singerย is caught up in some trouble again as a new reportย claims the director went AWOL for bothย Days Of Future Past and Apocalypse.
It seems thatย cinematic visionary Bryan Singer is in trouble for his on-set shenanigans again. The director previously landed in hot water with Fox for leaving the set of Freddie Mercury’s epic biopic Bohemian Rhapsodyย and bashing heads withย star Rami Malek.ย Deadline now reports that he was also allegedly AWOL for days at a time while working on Days of Future Past and Apocalypse.
According to the media outlet, Bryan Singer was constantly away while filming his last two X-Men films and it fell upon cinematographer Newton Thomas Sigel and editor/composer John Ottman to pick up the director’s slack to finish them.
Indiewireย reached out toย Bryan Singer for a statement when hisย repsย denied the claims:
โA spokesperson for Mr. Singer can affirm that he never went โAWOLโ from the sets of โX-Men: Days of Future Pastโ and โX-Men: Apocalypse.”

The saga started by Bryan Singer finished unremarkably with Dark Phoenix earlier this month, after an abysmalย debut at the box office. The X-Men are currently winding up for a reboot after the franchise returned to Marvel and Disney. However, it will be some time before we see Professor Xavier, Cyclops, Wolverine and the other X-Men in the MCU, according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
Written and directed by Simon Kinberg,ย Dark Phoenixย stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain.
This is the story of one of the X-Menโs most beloved characters, Jean Grey, as she evolves into the iconic DARK PHOENIX. During a life-threatening rescue mission in space, Jean is hit by a cosmic force that transforms her into one of the most powerful mutants of all. Wrestling with this increasingly unstable power as well as her own personal demons, Jean spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy the very fabric of our planet. The film is the most intense and emotional X-Men movie ever made. It is the culmination of 20 years of X-Men movies, as the family of mutants that weโve come to know and love must face their most devastating enemy yet โ one of their own.
Dark Phoenixย is now playing in theaters everywhere.
