After vanishing for four months, X-Men: Days of Future Past star Fan Bingbing has finally made her first public appearance.
Fan Bingbing became the subject of controversy earlier this year when it turned out that she had run into some legal troubles with the Chinese government, which eventually lead to her mysterious disappearance. As revealed by Chinese TV presenter Cui Yongyuan, Bingbing had been involved with something known as a “yin-yang contract.” It’s a form of tax evasion that the actress reportedly took part in and eventually led to the disappearance of both Bingbing and her boyfriend, Li Chen.
If you’re not familiar with the actress, she made a one-time appearance in the X-Men franchise as a fairly iconic character amongst Marvel fans. In the 2014 film X-Men: Days of Future Past, Bingbing played the role of Blink, a mutant with the ability to create portals, appearing in the post-apocalyptic sections of the film. For the first time since her disappearance, Bingbing was spotted at the airport, safe and sound. Check out the star’s appearance in the video below courtesy of NHK WORLD News.

Given that Blink was killed in X-Men: Days of Future Past and didn’t appear in the 2016 sequel X-Men: Apocalypse, it doesn’t seem like the events will have any effect on the film series whatsoever. That being said, it’s also fair to say that fans shouldn’t expect to see her return to the role anytime soon. Thankfully, Bingbing is back safe and sound but that doesn’t mean that her legal troubles are over just yet.
