When it comes to media representation, the X-Men have taken a backseat to other Marvel characters, most likely for the purposes to promote the characters most closely tied to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, it’s looking like Marvel’s merry band of Mutants are going to make a comeback on the gaming field, with the team being a focus of the latest trailer for Marvel Future Fight.
Seven of Marvel’s most popular Mutants will enter the fray and fight alongside a large ensemble of heroes and villains in a last-ditch effort to save prevent a nightmarish future. These characters are Wolverine, Jean Grey, Beast, Cyclops, Storm, Rogue, and Magneto. An announcement trailer showing these seven characters can be seen below:
In addition to the above trailer, Netmarble has released images containing character profiles for the seven playable characters:

It should be noted that, while the X-Men brand has been absent from some of the more recent Marvel games (like LEGO Marvel’s Avengers), they’re still present in in one other ongoing mobile title – Marvel: Contest of Champions. Some also believe that the X-Men will be added as post-launch DLC for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. Hopefully, this is a sign that we’ll be seeing more of the X-Men in Marvel’s non-movie media.
