X-Men star James McAvoy recently made an incredible donation to help the NHS fight coronavirus.
James McAvoy recently offered a huge donation in a crowdfunding effort to help England’s NHS get proper protective equipment for medical staff to wear when treating patients with the coronavirus. A crowdfunding page was set up by desperate NHS staff after many doctors and nurses explained how dangerously ill-equipped they are when it comes to protective clothing. X-Men star James McAvoy donated £275,000 to the campaign.
Because of James McAvoy’s incredible donation, 75,000 masks and 75,000 visors can immediately be ordered for NHS staff fighting the coronavirus, instead of having to wait for donations. The crowdfunding page was initially aiming to raise £200,000, but has since been upped to over £1 million because of an endless wave of donations. The group of doctors behind the page explained that NHS staff fighting the coronavirus without proper clothing is like “going to war without armour and protection.”
Do you think more celebrities should follow the X-Men star’s example with coronavirus donations?
