Elliot Fletcher Y The Last Man FX

Shameless star Elliot Fletcher has joined the cast of FX’s Y: The Last Man.

After a tumultuous course getting off the ground, FX’s television adaption of the comic titled Y: The Last Man is back on track as the creative team behind the series prepares to resume production in April. Now, Deadline reports that Shameless star Elliot Fletcher has joined the cast in the series regular role of Sam Jordan.

The character description for Elliot Fletcher’s Sam Jordan describes him as the best friend and enabler of Yorick Brown, the lead character who is portrayed by Ben Schnetzer. Growing up in poverty with absent parents has made Elliot Fletcher’s Sam Jordan both resourceful and resilient, two important qualities in a world where the few surviving men in a post-apocalyptic are met with suspicion or worse. While Elliot Fletcher’s Sam Jordan is characterized as being smart, funny, and having a big heart, he can also be self-destructive.

In addition to his role on Shameless, Elliot Fletcher is known for multi-season arcs in Freeform’s The Fosters. The young actor also had a guest role in Marvel’s Runaways.

Brian K. Vaughan’s acclaimed comic book seres ran from 2002 to 2008 and was published by DC Comics under their Vertigo label. The series follows Yorick Brown, who survives a plague and becomes the last human on the planet with a Y chromosome. Yorick is also notably joined by his pet monkey Yorick as they search for answers in a dystopian world with no men.

Y: The Last Man will star Ben Schnetzer, Diane Lane, Imogen Poots, Lashana Lynch, Juliana Canfield, Marin Ireland, and Amber Tamblyn.
