Zachary Levi’s Shazam joins the Justice League, Suicide Squad, and Jared Leto’s Joker in a new DC Films banner on iTunes.
The inter-connectivity of the DCEU appears to be uncertain for several reasons. For one, we are getting a new Batman with Robert Pattinson and the success of Joker may mean that more standalone films are in the pipeline. No Justice League film is currently planned at this time either, however there are still many elements of the DCEU that are moving forward. James Gunn is bringing back many actors to reprise their roles in The Suicide Squad but whether its a sequel remains unclear. The Wonder Woman and Aquaman franchises are still a top priority for Warner Bros. and the last DCEU film was Zachary Levi’s Shazam!
With DC and Warner Bros. shifting their strategy to focus on standalone films instead of team-ups, there is some doubt on whether we will see Zachary Levi suit up as Shazam in a Justice League film. Shazam! featured many references to the greater DCEU including a faceless man in a Henry Cavill Superman suit at the end. A new DC banner on iTunes was spotted by Batman News on Reddit and it may be the closest thing we get to a connected DCEU for a while. The DC banner sees Zachary Levi’s Shazam alongside the Justice League, Suicide Squad, and Jared Leto’s Joker.

Do you think we will get a Justice League film anytime soon? Will we see Zachary Levi’s Shazam interact with any established DC heroes or villains in the future? Could this banner mean that the DCEU is still alive? Comment below!
Here’s the official synopsis for Zachary Levi’s Shazam!:
We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).
Shazam! is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD.
