The DC Extended Universe is looking to move on from Zack Snyder’s original vision for the Justice League, but fans remain passionate about his three films Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and his Director’s Cut of Justice League. These same fans also remain passionate about Ben Affleck and his portrayal as Batman.

Ben Affleck celebrates his 49th Birthday today, and Zack Snyder took to Vero to celebrate his Batman’s Birthday with a new photo of him unmasked in the Batsuit that he took in 2013:

Following his appearance in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Ben Affleck will reprise his role as Batman in Andy Muschietti’s upcoming The Flash alongside Ezra Miller. Michael Keaton will also appear in the film as his version of Batman, reprising his role for the first time since 1992’s Batman Returns.

Here is the synopsis for Zack Snyder’s Justice League:

“In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.”

The Snyder Cut stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J.K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
