Zack Snyder Reveals Best Look Yet At Darkseid In ‘Justice League’

Darkseid DC Comics Justice League Zack Snyder

Zack Snyder has shared a brand new photo from a cut Justice League scene featuring Darkeid.

Last month, Zack Snyder set the internet ablaze after revealing the first photo of Darkseid in the 2017 DC Comics team-up movie Justice League. Unfortunately, Darkseid did not make an appearance in the final cut of Justice League, but Zack Snyder’s latest Vero post offers fans their best look yet at the iconic comic book villain in the film’s original “History Lesson” sequence.

You can check out Zack Snyder’s Darkseid photo in the post below.

Previously, in a comment on Instagram, Ares actor Nick McKinless revealed that there was apparently an entire fight sequence between Ares and a younger Darkseid when he first invaded Earth. The actor said he trained for four months to get in God of War shape for the now uncredited role in the movie.

Darkseid almost played a larger role in the Zack Snyder cut of Justice League and subsequent DC Extended Universe films. However, after Joss Whedon assumed directorial duties during post-production and oversaw extensive re-shoots for Justice League, Darkseid was removed from the theatrical cut and Warner Bros. reassessed their plans for future DCEU films following the underwhelming reviews and box office gross of the film.

This news is just the latest on Zack Snyder’s original cut of Justice League, which was set to introduce Darkseid. Zack Snyder’s original 5 movie-arc for the DCEU was said to include scenes of Young Darkseid vs Ares and the other Greek Gods in the first invasion of Earth, the murder of Lois Lane and half the Justice League, and Darkseid taking control of the heartbroken Superman with the Anti-Life Equation.

Here is the synopsis for Justice League:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.

Justice League is available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for the latest news on Zack Snyder and the future of the DC Extended Universe.
