Zack Snyder has revealed that his upcoming cut of Justice League won’t feature a lick of footage that was shot by Joss Whedon.

After tons of fan outcry and advocacy by stars like Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot, Zack Snyder is finally getting a shot at fulfilling his vision for Justice League. Set to hit HBO Max next year, the Snyder cut of Justice League will feature tons of sequences that we didn’t get to see in the theatrical version. In fact, Snyder revealed video footage of Henry Cavill in the black Superman suit just yesterday during the JusticeCon live stream. During that same stream, the Justice League director revealed that he won’t be using footage that Joss Whedon shot for his upcoming cut.

When asked by the Justice Con moderators if he’d be using any off Joss Whedon’s footage for the upcoming cut of Justice League, Zack Snyder immediately laid down some choice words.

“I’d destroy the movie before I use a single frame that I didn’t photograph. That is a f***ing hard fact. I’d blow the f***ing thing up.”

Joss Whedon infamously took over directorial duties on Justice League after Zack Snyder stepped out due to a family tragedy. Whedon re-shot numerous portions of the film and added sequences that didn’t match up with what Snyder had intended. These changes ultimately resulted in a film that many felt was “Frankensteined” and lacked a clear identity. This upcoming cut is set to remedy some of Whedon’s choices as well as give Snyder ultimate control over the story he wants to tell.
