Zack Snyder Shooting New ‘Justice League‘ Scenes With Main Cast

Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill and Ray Fisher are all expected to be on set.

Zack Snyder is bringing some of the Justice League cast together to film new scenes.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zack Snyder will bring the some of the cast of Justice League back together in October for reshoots. Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill and Ray Fisher are all expected to return to finish up the Snyder Cut and make it a coherent mini-series. Snyder’s reshoots are expected to last a week, so I wouldn’t expect it to impact the end product as much.

Fisher has recently been in a very public quarrel with Warner Bros. over misconduct on the set of Joss Whedon’s reshoots of the film, so his name is definitely a surprising addition. The actor is also in negotiations to reprise his role for the standalone The Flash film and hopefully this means they can work it out.

Previously, in a comment on Instagram, Nick McKinless said that there was apparently an entire fight sequence between Ares and a younger Darkseid when he first invaded Earth in Zack Snyder’s version of Justice League. The actor was cast as Ares for the sequence and trained for four months to get in proper shape for the role. However, McKinless was not credited in the thetrical cut of the movie.

Darkseid almost played a larger role in Zack Snyder cut of Justice League and subsequent DC Extended Universe projects. However, after Joss Whedon assumed directorial duties during post-production and oversaw extensive re-shoots for Justice League, Darkseid was removed from the theatrical cut and Warner Bros. reassessed their plans for future DCEU films following the underwhelming reviews and box office gross of the film.

Zack Snyder’s original 5 movie-arc for the DCEU was also said to include events like the murder of Lois Lane along with half the Justice League and Darkseid taking control of the heartbroken Superman with the Anti-Life Equation.

Here is the official synopsis for Zack Snyder’s Justice League:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League Cut is set to hit HBO Max in 2021. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood regarding all the latest news regarding Ben Affleck, Batman and the Snyder Cut, and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
