Zack Snyder has taken to social media to share a poster for the upcoming SnyderCon event in Pasadena. The poster, created by legendary comic book artist Jim Lee, showcases the Justice League roster, including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash.
The centerpiece of the poster is the ominous face of Darkseid, the powerful villain who threatened to destroy Earth in the Snyder Cut of Justice League. Surrounding the characters are various symbols and the word “AEQUITAS,” a Latin word that fittingly speaks to justice and equity. At the bottom of the poster is the title Zack Snyder’s Justice League and its official logo.
The poster is more than just a cool piece of artwork for fans of the SnyderVerse. Zack Snyder has announced that sales of T-shirts featuring the poster design will go toward the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of suicide and preventing it.
James Gunn and Peter Safran recently told journalists that their vision for the DC Universe includes locked scripts, wiggle room and a unified storyline. The two explained that the DCU could bring back elements from previous Warner Bros. regimes, meaning that their eight-to-year plan is not a full reboot.
The SnyderVerse era is over for now
The term “SnyderVerse” refers to the interconnected film universe that Zack Snyder created, which began with Man of Steel and continued with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. Those plans have been scrapped in favor of an interconnected DC Universe consisting of film, television, animation and video game projects, with James Gunn and Peter Safran at the helm.
Despite its mixed reception, the SnyderVerse has a dedicated fanbase that appreciates Zack Snyder’s DC Universe vision. Fans have praised the SnyderVerse films for their darker tone and mature storytelling. They have also criticized Warner Bros. and DC’s interference with Snyder’s DCU plans, which they believe resulted in the lackluster final product of Justice League.
In 2021, Zack Snyder released his four-hour long Justice League cut on the WarnerMedia streaming service HBO Max. His version of Justice League was well received by fans and critics alike, who praised its improvement over the original version of the movie, which was overseen by Joss Whedon. The release of the Snyder Cut has reignited interest in the SnyderVerse and sparked speculation about its future.
