Benicio Del Toro In Talks To Star In ‘The Predator’

Shane Black’s Predator movie may have just found its leading man. According to Deadline, Benicio Del Toro is in early talks to star in the reboot of the 1987 John McTiernan-directed action movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

No further details were provided about Del Toro’s role. Black has previously mentioned that The Predator’s lead character will be named Quinn Mackenna, so there’s a chance that the actor could be playing this character. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but we also know that the movie will be set in present day.

It’s currently unknown whether Schwarzenegger will reprise his role as Dutch from the original movie. Black recently had the following to say on the matter:

“These things all happened in 1990. But now it’s 25 years later. So in other words, if Arnold [Schwarzenegger]’s in it – which I’m not allowed to discuss [laughs] – he would be old Arnold.”

The project will likely begin production early next year. Fred Dekker is currently working on the script of the highly anticipated movie, which will be produced by John Davis, Joel Silver and Lawrence Gordon.
