Aaron Taylor-Johnson has teased his new look as Spider-Man villain Kraven the Hunter.

Sony is going all out with its universe of Spider-Man characters. Their latest effort will be bringing Kraven the Hunter to the big screen. The studio has tapped Aaron Taylor-Johnson to appear as the iconic Spider-Man villain for the upcoming film directed by J.C. Chandor. While details are slim on the upcoming Marvel and Sony project, the film has been rounding out its cast, which will mostly include Kraven’s family.

In a recent interview and shoot with Hero Magazine, Aaron Taylor-Johnson opened up about appearing as the iconic character. The star has already started prep for the role, with his new look of a sharp beard and longer hair likely signaling what he’ll look like as the Hunter.

You can find more photos of Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s new look at Hero Magazine, where he discussed how he’s currently participating in stunt training for the film via a conversation with Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield.

“I’m good! I’m in England, I’m not in London but just outside, close to the production office [for Kraven the Hunter]. I’m staying here because I’ve got a bunch of stunt training to do for this movie, so the director and I are bunking up for the next couple of weeks.”

As for how he feels about stepping into the role, the Kraven star gave an apt response to Andrew Garfield.

“It comes with its challenges. As you know!”

The star continued by discussing how Kraven the Hunter’s comic book look and physique is informing Taylor-Johnson on how to tackle the role.

“You do come at it from another angle, which is back-to-front for me. It’s like you’re coming at it from the physical aspect, because that’s what you can see from a comic book. You go, ‘Oh, he looks like that, so I have to look like that.’ You see that and then you start to backtrack and dig deeper, and go, ‘This is where he originates from, then he has this relationship and that relationship…’ You just hope that you’re going to portray something that you can bring to life. There is, again, room for an interpretation and you want to be able to bring something and let it pop off the page. It’s another new challenge, we talk about putting yourself under pressure all the time. I don’t step away from controversial shit, I don’t know what it is, but I’m always drawn to the thing that might actually give me a f****** stroke!”

Here is the synopsis for Sony’s next Marvel film, Morbius:

One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed and transforms this healer into a hunter.

Directed Daniel Espinosa from a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, the film stars Jared Leto as the lead anti-hero, Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Jared Harris, and Tyrese Gibson. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the project with Lucas Foster, while Palak Patel will oversee for Sony.

Morbius will hit theaters on April 1, 2022, while Kraven The Hunter is set for a January 13, 2023 release. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the film, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
