‘Across The Spider-Verse’ Character Designer Reveals Prowler Concept Art

Gorgeous new concept art!

Donald Glover Aaron Davis Spider-Man Across the Spider-verse

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse delighted fans across the world with a cameo by Donald Glover as The Prowler. One of the film’s character designers, Kris Anka, has dropped new concept sketches for the character’s costume.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and its predecessor Into the Spider-Verse have quickly turned The Prowler into a favorite villain among fans. A cameo by Donald Glover in the now iconic role, an identity first teased back in Spider-Man: Homecoming, made theaters across the world erupt in cheers. Concept art for his costume has been revealed by character designer Kris Anka, showing off inspiration from racing suits and riot gear.

The graffiti logo may not have been something that many fans caught given the quick nature of Donald Glover’s cameo in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. However, it does make perfect sense given Aaron Davis, and by extension, The Prowler, are heavily connected to art and graffiti in the films. It’s unlikely we’ll be seeing Glover suit up as The Prowler again anytime soon, but this concept art does show how much of a labor of love that quick cameo truly was.

The team behind Across The Spider-Verse

Avi Arad, Amy Pascal, Christina Steinberg are producing the upcoming movie alongside Lord and Miller, who also worked on its predecessor.

The Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse synopsis reads as follows: “Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga… After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.
