Actor Brian Tee Reveals Why & How He Wants To Play Marvel’s Namor The Sub-Mariner

DC has Aquaman and Marvel has Namor the Sub-Mariner. Both are underwater badasses, and are both the King of Atlantis is their respective comic book universes. DC’s Extended Universe is featuring actor Jason Momoa as their King of Atlantis, but as of right now Marvel has not yet done anything with Namor the Sub-Mariner. With the rights to the character recently being returned back over to Marvel there is a very high chance we will see the character eventually appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And if he does, do you think Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles actor Brian Tee would be a good fit for the underwater role?

Well, Tee has already said that he would like the opportunity to play Namor. The actor is known for playing the villain Shredder in the TMNT reboot films. Now, while talking to, he reveals why he wants to play the character of Namor and what he would do with him:

“You know what’s funny is my career I’ve kind of played villains, guys with attitude, guys with chips on their shoulders, um, in reading the comics books and being a fan of Namor, that’s kind of this guy’s persona. Even though he’s a hero or a quote unquote good guy. He’s kind of a bit of an anti-hero with a bit of an edge, and I feel like I kind of fall in that line, especially with other things that I’ve done. So that’s the kind of aspect that I would love to bring into Namor. He’s not just like a good guy, you know, he’s definitely got some faults of his own, but I think when it really boils down to doing the right thing he will, and you know it’s Namor, it’s Marvel, it’s the first Mutant, it’s everything you can kind of dreamed of as a kid and wanted to portray, and so I would absolutely love and be honored to play him if the time does come around, and I thank you guys for the movement!”

As the moment, Namor is still nothing more than a pipedream, but if Marvel does end up bringing the submerged hero to life would you like to see Brian Tee take on the role? Make sure to let us know below!
