‘Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’ Concept Art Reveals Unused Helmet For Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren

Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker Adam Driver Kylo Ren

New concept art from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker shows off a redesigned helmet for Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren.

Although Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren has idolized his grandfather Darth Vader since his introduction in The Force Awakens, new concept art from The Rise of Skywalker shows the villain wearing something even closer to the style of the legendary Sith lord. Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren has had a tortured journey throughout the new trilogy, before he finally overcame the dark side’s tight grip on him, eventually siding with Rey against Emperor Palpatine, just as his grandfather did.

Star Wars concept artist Luke D. Fisher posted the redesigned look for Kylo Ren on Instagram, explaining in the caption that his take on the helmet was meant to be closer to the aesthetic of Darth Vader. The new helmet features a new detail around the head filled with buttons and lights, much like Darth Vader’s chest piece in his suit. The design also does away with the circular silver trim around the visor, instead going for simple straight lines as well as a sharper mouth guard.
