‘Star Wars’ Concept Art Shows Dark Rey With Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren Helmet

Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker Daisy Ridley Dark Rey Dark Side Kylo Ren

A brand new piece of concept art from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker shows Daisy Ridley’s Dark Rey moments away from wearing Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren helmet.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was met with mediocre reception all across the board for clumsily wrapping up the Skywalker saga. One of the biggest complaints from fans was the film’s convoluted plot, diversion from The Last Jedi‘s storyline, and Palpatine’s convenient return as the big bad. As with every Star Wars flick, there was enough good to be found in the bad to make the film a worthwhile endeavour. Considerable praise was shifted towards Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver’s performances as Rey and Kylo Ren. Fans were also happy to see that Rey dabbled with being evil, even if it was for a brief dream sequence.

In the film, Ridley’s Rey briefly sees a vision of herself as a Sith lord, rocking a black robe and a switch-blade-like red lightsaber. And while it was brief, it was a moment that stood for out fans and critics as one of the few inklings of creativity in an otherwise muddled film. To satisfy fan cravings, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker concept artist Adam Brockbank shared a brand new sinister image of Ridley’s Dark Rey, this time with Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren helmet. You can check it out below.

Dark Rey looks absolutely menacing as she’s just about to wear Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren helmet. One of the key components of this piece is Rey’s Sith yellow eyes, which are eerily similar to Darth Maul’s. While we never got to see this cool and sinister moment in the latest Star Wars film, it’s safe to say that Dark Rey probably killed Driver’s Kylo Ren and took the helmet from him, ushering in a new era of the dark side.
