Agatha: Coven of Chaos is set to continue Agatha Harkness’ story following the end of WandaVision. However, returning WandaVision co-star Debra Jo Rupp teases it may be more of a continuation than many may have thought.
Many fans were confused when it was announced that Agatha: Coven of Chaos would be the spin-off to come out of WandaVision and not something like a Jimmy Woo series starring Randall Park. However, according to Debra Jo Rupp, who played Sharon Davis on WandaVision, Coven of Chaos will serve as a continuation of WandaVision in the same vein as American Horror Story.
“It’s the second season of Wandavision for Marvel. It’s very much like American Horror Story, where each season is a whole new kind of a thing,” Rupp told Berkshire Magazine. “I was shocked when they called me, because I really thought that would be it, and I was fine with that. But when they called, I got so excited because it’s a character I never get to play. She’s gonna be great fun.”
For those unaware, American Horror Story is an anthology series that follows an entirely new storyline each season, though some characters and thematic parallels continue through. While it’s not likely Agatha: Coven of Chaos is to be as big of a departure as the jump between a freakshow and the lost colony of Roanoke, Debra Jo Rupp’s comments should excite fans who want to see more of Westview. Perhaps they’ll even see Jimmy Woo again!
