‘Ahsoka’ & ‘Rangers of the New Republic’ Star Wars Shows Announced

Lucasfilm has announced Ahsoka and Rangers of the New Republic Star Wars shows for Disney Plus during Disney’s Investor Day presentation.

There’s been plenty of rumors in regards to what live-action shows Lucasfilm might be developing for Disney Plus. During the Investor Day presentation, it was revealed that 10 shows are currently in the works for the streaming service. Many assumed that Boba Fett would be one of them, since it was reported that a series was already filming. However, it was revealed by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy that two new shows are on the way with Ahsoka and Rangers of the New Republic.

Ahsoka and Rangers of the New Republic are coming from The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau and executive producer Dave Filoni. Ahsoka will star Rosario Dawson and it can be assumed that Rangers of the New Republic will see the return of Gina Carano’s Cara Dune. The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito and Carl Weathers, with Rosario Dawson joining the series as Ahsoka Tano. The Star Wars project is being directed by series creator Jon Favreau, executive producer Dave Filoni and fellow season one directors Rick Famuyiwa and Bryce Dallas Howard. Ant-Man director Peyton Reed will also helm at least one episode as will star Carl Weathers and Sin City helmer Robert Rodriguez.
