Following the recent news of his passing, Ahsoka is set to be one of the final projects starring actor Ray Stevenson when it premieres later this year. Both the show’s star Rosario Dawson and showrunner Dave Filoni have shared tributes to the actor’s legacy.
Ray Stevenson first joined the Star Wars franchise as the character Gar Saxon on the animated show Star Wars Rebels, before reprising his role in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which was also helmed by Dave Filoni. He returns to the world of Star Wars in Ahsoka as the character Baylan Skoll. Filoni talked about Stevenson’s time on set of the new show in a tribute posted to the official Star Wars webite, emphasizing the actor’s kindness and wisdom:
“We have lost a great talent and friend in Ray Stevenson,” Filoni wrote. “His kindness and generosity were felt by our entire team on Ahsoka. I always looked forward to working with Ray, and I appreciated his insight and daily wisdom. I am glad that his memory will live on through his family, friends, and the many characters he created. Thank you Ray, for everything.”
Dave Filoni wasn’t the only member of the Ahsoka series to honor Ray Stevenson’s legacy following his passing. The show’s star. Rosario Dawson, shared her love for the actor and his family in a recent Instagram post, ending the post with the hashtag “#LegendsNeverDie.”
Tributes to Ray Stevenson have been appearing across the internet since his passing. The actor touched the life of millions of fans across Star Wars, Marvel films, and even the recent critically-acclaimed RRR. No actor lives forever, but his Ahsoka co-star Rosario Dawson put it best with “legends never die.”
