Following the release of Ahsoka, many fans assumed Dave Filoni would move straight into production on his upcoming Star Wars film. However, a new report suggests Filoni may stay on Disney Plus for a little while longer.
Ahsoka season 1, in typical Dave Filoni fashion, left fans with more questions than answers. Many fans assumed that this would be a setup for Filoni’s upcoming Star Wars film, which is set to bring an end to the current era of Disney Plus stories. However, when discussing the future of Grand Admiral Thrawn, a Deadline report suggested season 2 of Ahsoka is likely to come out first:
“Some fans have speculated that Dave Filoni’s stand-alone feature film…centers around Thrawn, and that is poised to be next,” Deadline writes. “However, we hear that Ahsoka Season 2 is more of a reality in the conversation, though nothing is locked yet.”
Star Wars fans will certainly be happy to hear they’ll get more of Ahsoka, with season 1 being some of the best-received Disney Plus content since Andor. It’s likely that season 2, while answering plenty of questions, will serve to set up Dave Filoni’s Star Wars film in more concrete terms, potentially being developed in tandem.
