Akiva Goldsman Offers An Update On DC Universe’s ‘Titans’ Season 3

Akiva Goldsman has offered an update on the third season of DC Universe’s Titans and when filming might start.

Nightwing notably made his live-action debut in the season two finale of Titans with the defeat of Deathstroke. Given the post-credits scene, it appears Blackfire will serve as the protagonist for the third season. It is also rumored that Titans season three will feature Barbara Gordon as Oracle in some capacity.

The future of DC Universe is currently unknown with the forthcoming launch of HBO Max, but Titans continues to be the streaming service’s premiere series and has been renewed for a third season. Series co-creator Akiva Goldsman recently sat down with Collider and offered an update on Titans season three amidst the coronavirus:

“[Producer] Greg Walker is running the writers room on season 3. Stories have been developed but everything is a bit slowed down, obviously. Season 3 is planning to go in front of the cameras as soon as possible.”

Here’s the official synopsis for the second season:

In Season 2, following the aftermath of their encounter with Trigon, Dick reforms the Titans. Under his supervision in their new home at Titans Tower, Rachel, Gar and Jason Todd train together to hone their hero abilities and work together as a team. They are joined by Hank Hall and Dawn Granger aka Hawk and Dove and Donna Troy aka Wonder Girl. Although these original Titans attempt to transition into a regular life, when old enemies resurface everyone must come together to take care of unfinished business. And as this family of old and new Titans – including Conner Kent and Rose Wilson – learn to co-exist, the arrival of Deathstroke brings to light the sins of the old Titans which threaten to tear this new Titans family apart once more.

The series stars Brenton Thwaites as Richard “Dick” Grayson / Robin, Anna Diop as Koriand’r / Starfire, Teagan Croft as Rachel Roth / Raven, and Ryan Potter as Garfield “Gar” Logan / Beast Boy.
