The Boys has officially been renewed for Season 4 at Amazon, following a surge in viewers tuning in for the Season 3 premiere.

Prime Video announced today that they have ordered a fourth season of the twisted superhero series. Season 3 of The Boys debuted with the first three episodes on Friday, June 3, and saw its audience grow 17% from Season 2 and an incredible 234% from Season 1 – testament to the show’s continually growing popularity.

‘The Boys’ Keeps Getting Bolder

The first episodes of Season 3 of The Boys have made quite a splash on social media, shocking fans as the series continues to push boundaries with its bizarre and deeply groteseque re-examination of the superhero genre. Going forward, it sounds like the series has no plans of slowing down.

The Boys continues to push boundaries in storytelling while also being relentlessly entertaining and threading the needle on social satire that feels all too real,” said Vernon Sanders, the head of global television for Amazon Studios. “This stylized world of the series has incredible global reach and the viewership for opening weekend is proof of that. We are immensely proud of the cast and crew that has spawned a franchise for Prime Video, and we look forward to bringing more of The Boys to our customers.”

As well as its continuing live-action series, The Boys has spawned an animated anthology series, titled The Boys Presents: Diabolical, which is available to stream now on Prime Video. Also in the pipeline is an as-yet untitled spinoff, focusing on America’s only college for young-adult superheroes. The spinoff series is currently in production.

The Boys stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, and Jensen Ackles.

Season 3 is now streaming on Amazon, with new episodes released every Friday. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding The Boys, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
