Rumors claiming that Mera actress Amber Heard is no longer part of the Aquaman 2 cast are false.

Amidst her lengthy and prolific legal battle with her ex-husband Johnny Depp, rumors have been circulating that Aquaman star Amber Heard would be fired from the film’s sequel. The most recent development from the battle saw one of Depp’s friends claiming that Heard faked a bloody nose using red nail polish. Recent reports from the legal battle have indicated that if Heard is found to be faking evidence against Depp, she could be heading to prison, which is a cause for worry for fans who were looking forward to seeing Mera in Aquaman 2.

While the narrative between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp is exceptionally muddled and is proving to diminish some of their professional clout, it has been suggested that the Mera actress will be fired from the upcoming Aquaman 2. Worry not Aquaman fans, as Heroic Hollywood owner Umberto Gonzalez took to Twitter to put those rumors to rest.

While the legal battle continuing to rage on and accusations being flung left and right, Warner Bros. doesn’t seem interested in firing one of the core stars from the Aquaman 2 cast. Amber Heard’s Mera was a standout from 2018’s Aquaman and it simply wouldn’t make sense to recast such a fan-favorite. Beyond that, Warner Bros. doesn’t seem to be in a position to resort to favoritism when it comes to a “firing,” as Johnny Depp is also headlining the third sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

While the talk of the town may suggest that Amber Heard is on her way out from the Aquaman franchise, fans can rest assured knowing that she’s not being replaced as Mera. The first film was a smash-hit at the box office, grossing over $1 billion and proving to Warner Bros. that fans are interested in solo films that build characters — not teams — first. As for Aquaman 2, the film is set to hit cinemas in the December of 2022 and is inspired by the Silver Age run that featured Black Manta, which means fans are in for quite the bombastic treat.
