If you have seen Aquaman you have probably spotted details of pollution in a couple of scenes from the film. One scene, in particular, happens to include a nod to one of director James Wan’s previous film characters, Annabelle. Spoiler warning!
In a blink or you’ll miss moment there is a scene in which the character Annabelle makes a quick appearance in a scene that contains various amounts of garbage surrounding Jason Momoa’s Arthur and Amber Heard’s Mera.
The scene has Arthur and Mera having a conversation regarding Arthur returning to Atlantis and for this, both of them must use a vehicle to be able to travel to their destination. Hidden in a container on the bottom of the ocean Arthur and Mera get in the vehicle and begin their journey, but right before they take off someone in particular peaks up at the audience watching the film.
From The Conjuring universe, the character Annabelle can be seen peaking from the corner of the scene as Arthur and Mera take off leaving debris rising. If you focus on the left side of the screen as this scene takes place you’ll be able to spot Annabelle in yet another film.
It’s a great easter egg provided by James Wan’s crew as a nod to his previous films. This will probably leave some fans wondering as to how Annabelle reached the bottom of the ocean. Annabelle became a huge hit after James Wan’s The Conjuring and the character has received two films detailing her story.
