Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. While some viewers have praised Quantumania for its humor and action-packed sequences, others have criticized it for its convoluted plot and lackluster performances. One person who was taken aback by the negative feedback was Jeff Loveness, the writer behind the superhero movie.

In a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Jeff Loveness expressed his surprise at the harsh criticism aimed towards Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. “To be honest, those reviews took me by surprise,” Loveness told the site. “I was in a pretty low spot… Those were not good reviews, and I was like, ‘What the …?’”

Despite the unfavorable reviews, Loveness stands by his work and is proud of what he wrote for actors like Jonathan Majors and Michelle Pfeiffer. “I thought that was good stuff, you know? And so I was just despondent, and I was really sad about it,” he continued.

However, Loveness found solace in attending a public screening of Quantumania after the negative reviews came out. He was heartened to see that audience members were enjoying the film and laughing at many of its jokes “I’m like, ‘Goddamn! No, [the reviews] are wrong! I’m right! MODOK is great!’” he exclaimed.

Despite the initial disappointment, Loveness has taken the criticism in stride and is determined to move forward. “I’m pretty happy with it overall, and I think I learned how to take a punch this week. And now that I learned that it’s not too bad, I can just get on with making things,” he said.
