Anthony Mackie got a fantastic birthday surprise on the set on his new film Outside The Wire when the crew joined him wearing Captain America merchandise.
Filming on location in Budapest for the upcoming Sci-Fi/Action film Outside The Wire for Netflix, Anthony Mackie tweeted a photograph of him and the crew who were all wearing Captain America merchandise to no doubt commemorate his promotion to the role. Beginning his career in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as The Falcon, Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson was given the Captain America shield by Steve Rogers himself at the end of Avengers: Endgame.

Anthony Mackie still hasn’t suited up as Captain America yet but we will hopefully see his transformation into the patriotic hero in the upcoming Disney Plus series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Still, this is a fantastic surprise for the star who will one day be referred to as Captain America.

While Chris Evans’ time with the Marvel Cinematic Universe has come to an end, Anthony Mackie will reprise his role as Sam Wilson in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which is currently set to be the first Marvel Studios series to debut on Disney Plus. Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, the series is rumored to center on Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes as the former finds himself facing resistance from the United States government and its opposition to him taking on the Captain America mantle.
