The Falcon and the Winter Soldier star Anthony Mackie has likened the upcoming Disney Plus series to a regular Marvel Studios movie production.

We’ve gotten Marvel television shows in the past, but none that have been produced by Marvel Studios. That will all change with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which will be the first of several shows a part of Phase 4 that will stream on Disney Plus. Production on the series was nearing its end before it was put on hold, but Anthony Mackie has revealed recently that there’s still a little bit more filming left to do.

Disney is reportedly spending around $100-150M for each of the Marvel Studios shows and based on the first look we saw back in February, it looks like we can expect the same level of cinematic scale. While speaking to Variety, Anthony Mackie has said as much by saying The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series has felt like a massive movie production:

“We’re shooting it exactly like a movie. Everybody who had worked on TV before was like, ‘I’ve never worked on a TV show like this.’ The way in which we were shooting, it feels exactly like we were shooting the movie cut up into the show. So instead of a two-hour movie, a six or eight-hour movie.”
