A set photo from Anthony Mackie’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series indicates that the Disney Plus series could feature a Wolverine connection.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is poised to be one of the many shows that will set up an integrated Marvel Cinematic Universe that takes place both on the big screen and your personal screen. Set to premiere this August on Disney Plus, the Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan-led series is one that’ll set a precedent for the MCU by changing up the franchise’s format. However, the series may include a connection to the X-Men hero Wolverine.
In a photo obtained by Murphy’s Multiverse, an actor on The Falcon and The Winter Soldier set is seen wearing a biker jacket that has a red flaming skull stamped onto it. The outlet reports that there are multiple bikers in the Anthony Mackie series who are seen sporting the same black biker jacket that have the red flaming skull on them. Some have pointed out that the skull looks like Wolverine villain Ogun, one of the mutant’s most deadliest foes. It’s entirely possible that the skull on the back of the jacket could merely be an aesthetic choice but it should be noted that the bike members hail from from a location Wolverine is all too familiar with.
The biker gang members appear to be from the Madripoor set of the series. For those unaware, Madripoor is a key X-Men location, with the isolated city-state now seemingly bridging the gap between the MCU and the X-Men universe. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier already has a main villain in Daniel Brühl’s Zemo, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see him teaming up with another villain. Only time will tell if Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan will be fighting the Wolverine villain but, if that is the case, we can imagine the MCU reaching even higher levels of insanity.
